Residents Participate in Many Activities

Annual Holiday Decorating

Every holiday season, residents of Lacamas Shores showcase the beauty of our neighborhood by decorating their homes in festive style to compete in the annual Holiday Lights contest. The categories are: Best Display, 2nd Place, 3rd Place and 4th Place. Winners receive a holiday sign for their yard proclaiming the category they won. They also get bragging rights until the next holiday season. This annual event draws many visitors who are making a drive through our neighborhood one of their Christmas traditions.

Easter Egg Hunt

The children of Lacamas Shores are treated to an annual easter egg hunt. There are two age groups, ages five and under and ages six through twelve. It is a much anticipated activity for the children. Specific information about dates and places will be published in the VIEWS.

July 4th Celebration

Every year, Lacamas Shores volunteers provide a remarkable 4th of July Celebration for all residents. Activities include:

  • Firecracker Fun Run
  • Neighborhood Parade
  • Kid's Basketball Event
  • Golf chip-off & Putting
  • Family Games
  • BBQ & Potluck
  • Live Music
This event is always a lot of fun and a great way to meet neighbors.

Annual Garage Sale
The Lacamas Shores Annual Garage Sale is held the first Saturday in June. The event attracts lots of traffic from outside the neighborhood. Residents will have plenty of buyers for all that great stuff you no longer want. Exact dates will be posted on this web site as well as in the VIEWS.

Progressive Parties

It’s called a Progressive Party because it progresses from one house to another. Traditionally a two course party, Hors d’oeuvres & Dessert. We meet at the 1st house for wine/ soda/beer and finger food around 7PM. Around 9PM we move to the 2nd house for dessert, coffee or other beverages. While the parties are commonly tame, discussions have run into the wee hours. As a host, it is your call when they end.

This is really fun. It is useful to know your neighbors. You can discuss things that concern you. Many problems (most?) in the neighborhood can be solved just by talking among ourselves. Please come even if you can’t host. Bring a new neighbor or one who may be hesitant to come alone.

Progressive Parties are announced in the VIEWS and in the Calendar section of this web site. To sign up to host, email us at... social@lacamasshores.org

Lacamas Shores Film Festival

One of the more nontraditional neighborhood events at Lacamas Shores is our Film Festival. Residents are encouraged to produce a five minute film on just about any subject and enter it into the Film Festival. It's an opportunity to put together a music video of your last vacation, a documentary on your daughter's soccer team, or even a short drama or comedy. Imaginative neighbors have provided us with many exciting entries included a parody of ER, a news report on terrorists in the Lacamas Shores area, a music video of a fishing trip to Alaska, and a take off on the Godfather with local residents putting on their best Italian accents and mugging for the camera.

The Winter Film Festival is scheduled in February. The Summer Film Festival is held in late August by the lake next to the boat house. Dates and times are published in the VIEWS and the online calendar. In the meantime, if you have questions on the Film Festival, please contact Sarah Bang.
