Lacamas Shores Neighborhood Clubs

Lacamas Shores has something for everyone and if you don't see what you like to do, you are welcome to organize a club. For the most part, neighborhood clubs are open to all adult residents. If you are interested in participating, contact the person listed and HAVE FUN!

Cooking Club

The Lacamas Shores Cooking Club has always been a forum for neighbors to get together in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where is does not matter if you consider yourself a good cook or even know which fork to choose. It is about learning from each other, trying new recipes, socializing, creating a stronger neighborhood by being familiar with faces, making friends, fun and laughter. The spirit of the cooking club is also about participating in one way or another.

The LS Cooking Club recently held a reorganization meeting to decide the future direction of the group. One of the main decisions was to make the club accessable to more neighbors by varying the meeting times and to open it to all adults in the neighborhood, men and women, and every level of cooking skills.

We have created a listserv just for this group, cooking@lacamasshores.org, to keep members in touch and up-to-date on planned events. It is also a forum for exchanging information, recipes, ideas, etc. As with all Lacamas Shores listserv's, you must be a member to post and receive emails. Travel Club

The Lacamas Shores Travel Group is a gathering of Lacamas residents interested in sharing fun times with neighbors while reliving tales of their worldwide travels and future trips. The venue for our events is the “Destination Theme Night” Our "Travel Host of the Month" will select a destination from their itinerary of worldly travels and host a travelogue using pictures, videos, and lively commentary of their experiences to share their journey with the group.

Guests attending who have also traveled to “The Destination of the evening” are encouraged to share their experiences, memories and treasures from afar along with the Travel Host in a fun, informative, and ad-hoc style forum. When possible, native background music, and surprise guests, will be added to round out the experience. The Travel Group will help create the monthly destination atmosphere by dressing for the location (optional), and contributing wine, cocktails, and appetizers appropriate to the destination. Displaying their purchases of art, clothing, and other travel memorabilia to highlight their travel memory will be encouraged as well.

We know that there is a passion for travel in the Lacamas Shores neighborhood. We hope to create a Travel Group social schedule and format that is both informative and fun for travelers of all dimensions!

Motorcycle Club

The Motorcycle Club welcomes all motorcycles (and their riders) for occasional group rides, participation in the Fourth of July Parade or any other excuse to ride. The group is still looking for a name. Contact Steve Bang if you are interested.
